It is crucial to place the appropriate items in their designated bins. When unsuitable materials are disposed of, it is considered contamination. Although most of us properly dispose of our waste, excessive contamination can cause an entire truckload of recyclable material to be rejected from recycling facilities. The following items should NOT be included in your home recycling bin and should instead be placed in your regular waste bin:

• Animal Waste
• COVID-19 test waste, including lateral flow cartridges and testing devices such as face masks
• Disposable nappies
• Glass cookware, Pyrex and ovenware, drinking glasses, and ceramics.
• Sticky tape.
